The project involves the renovation of the Maison de la Culture in Bourges, a remarkable example of 1930s architecture. The challenge with the images here was to propose an intervention that would blend smoothly into the existing preserved architecture. In its raw expression for the restaurant, since no heritage elements could be kept, and in response to the beautiful original Art Deco elements in the Boardroom.

Atelier Philippe Madec is an architecture and urban planning agency founded in Paris by Philippe Madec, a leading figure in ecological architecture in France who, for over 30 years, has been developing an approach based on constructive frugality, bioclimatic design, resource conservation and regional roots.
