Agricultural high school, Luçon
Contest - 2022
Description:
The project proposed to incorporate the agricultural high school program into a single, powerful form. This reinterpretation of rural architecture consists of a base of hemp concrete arches covered by an immense thatched roof. The square-shaped inner courtyard provides a calm space sheltered from the wind. The challenge of the main perspective was to find a strong composition that would assert the radical nature of the project in its agricultural setting. The dialogue between the two horizontal lines of the wheat fields and the thatched roof sums up the proposal in an easily memorable image.
The architect:
Titan is an architecture firm based in Nantes and founded in 2011. The firm has been recognized with several national and international awards, including the 2018 Albums des Jeunes Architectes et Paysagistes (AJAP) and the 2021 Prix de l'Équerre d'Argent.
